Apple’s iTunes app store, the biggest smartphone app store of its kind, is in my opinion also the best. I’ve been trying to watch trends on the app store. Over the time that I have been studying the app store, I have seen and tested several classic board games. Here are a few of my favourites.
Cluedo- not quite the original, but perhaps worth a look.
Chess Elite- If you don’t play chess, this app will make you start.
Boggle- Easy to learn, hard to master. Achievements, high scores, and the option to challenge friends via email.
Game of life- Amazing 3D graphics.
Scrabble- The classic game, now on your iPhone or iPod touch.
Trivial pursuit- brilliantly brought to the iPhone with countdown and up-to-date questions.
Yahtzee- I was surprized that nobody had made an app out of this classic game sooner.
Monopoly- I just love the way this game can be put in your pocket as an iPhone app.
Most of the apps are by Electronic arts Nederland BV, and they all have reasonable prices.
